Have you ever used Malasep Shampoo?

It is prescribed for dermatilogical reasons like ringworm and other fungal scaly, flaky like skin problems.....It is used on cats, dogs, and horses.

Does it work?

Have you ever used Malasep Shampoo?
I had to use Malaseb on on my cats twice a week for 12 weeks to get rid of ringworm. This is an unusually long time but one cat got it and the vet told me to bathe the other as a preventative. As soon as one cat was better the other got it anyway. I didn't have any problems with their skin other than the ringworm. The Malaseb seemed to leave their fur soft and their skin stayed normal. Once the ringworm was gone from both of them it never came back. I would absolutely use it again if ringworm came back.
Reply:Yes,

The Malaseb shampoo works very well when it is used correctly. The first thing to remember is that conditions like dermatitis can return at any time if your pet is under stress or is exposed to the same environmental stiumuls that caused him to have a break-out of it in the first place.

Secondly, Malaseb should only be used by a doctor. If too much is used, it can damage your pet's skin and cause excessive redness. If you use the shampoo too often, it can permanently damage your pet's skin and possibly internal organs as well. If you do not use Malaseb enough, the condition will return and possibly come back for a relapse.

Usually with conditions like Ringworm, a Malaseb cleaning is needed every two weeks - but it depends on your pet, how bad the condition is, and at the discretion of the veterinarian.

I worked as a vet nurse for a year and I did many Malaseb treatments and saw EXCELLENT results with it when the owners were diligent about keeping their appointments.
