Shower dogs? are there many people who have dogs that will shower with them every day???

there was a lady that came to my work one day. her dog smelled great. and i commented on how clean she was.


she told me that snickers (the dog) took a shower with her every day. i asked if she had skin problems. like dry skin or anything like that. and she said no. i didn't know if that was something that a lot of people did or just a few!?!?

Shower dogs? are there many people who have dogs that will shower with them every day???
My dog takes a shower with me but not every day, that would reek havoc on his skin! But the only reason he has to take a shower with me is because you can't bathe a 120 lb. dog with only him in the tub and not drench the entire bathroom. Just easier for me to get in and shut the curtain.
Reply:my 10 lbs dog showers with me once a week, but i think every day would dry her skin out!!
Reply:my dog used to jump in the shower with me, but i didn't bathe her, just let her play in the water. she doesn't do that as much any more, but every so often she just kind of jumps in. it's odd.

I had to make sure my bathroom door was shut TIGHT or my old lab mix would have jumped in every time I showered.





Of course he wanted to jump up and bite the water where it came out of the shower head so it wasn't very pleasant for me when he snuck in.





A couple of times I washed him while he was in there, but I didn't make it a habit as it got very messy with fur all over me.





Bathing him daily or weekly would have ruined his skin, too. Dried it out. Dogs do better in a lukewarm/warm bath and I think people like their showers hotter.
Reply:my dog would shower with us IF we let him...we tried it once but he was wayyyyy to hairy and clogged up the drain...60 lb black lab. i don't think its uncommon...probably not great for their skin though
