Dog allergy or not?!?

i got a dog 2 years ago but after about a year my grandma started getting very itchy red rashes on her body like doc says its eczema or psorisis but since my family hates dogs especially my mom she thinks its he dog allergy when i dont think it is because she doesnt sneeze, cough, or red eyed, or ever has any problems with her nose.. its just the skin what do you think?

dog allergy or not?

Dog allergy or not?!?
The fact that:

she doesnt sneeze, cough, or red eyed, or ever has any problems with her nose

Does not prove or disprove allergy. Only testing by an allergist could prove one way or the other.
Reply:Probably not? i dunno
Reply:doubtful. if they want to get rid of the dog, i'll take it! :)
Reply:Not all allergies have to do with sneezing. It seems rather odd that she didn't start having these rashes until after a year, though. If she was allergic to the dog, it strikes me that she would've been showing symptoms a lot sooner than that.

If the doctor told her it was eczema or psoriasis, I'd defer to the doctor's opinion.
Reply:no.
Reply:Not all allergic reactions involve the itchy eyes, runny nose and sneezing... some reactions involve the skin... People who are allergic to dogs have one thing in common--- they aren't allergic to the hairs that fall out, but the dander the dog leaves behind when it scratches itself or rubs on something, or just lays on something... could the dander aggravate the skin? I would think so. Some people have very sensitive skin...
Reply:i dont think you can blame your poor dog, go to the doctors, or keep dog away from gran for a while
Reply:it could be dog allergy but eczema or psoriasis is more likely

have your grandma try oatmeal bath and aveeno (spelled something like that i think) lotions

if the skin irritation does not clear up than it may be allergy
Reply:no its not an allergy
Reply:I find it a little odd that you had this dog a year before your grandma started showing symptoms.

That doesn't mean it's not an allergy. It simply means that the odds are against it being a dog allergy.

Has your grandmother gone to a dermatologist? There are a few other things that might cause the eczema too.
