Dog has infection on either side of jawbone. Yellow Laborador?

We have had the dog in AZ for a year, no problem. We took her to Florida and she immediately got an infection where her "cheeks" would be on either side of her mouth. It started as a rash that she itched but has spread to where it scabbed (the scabbing was very thick and dark) over and now the scab is falling off revealing bare (raw looking) skin beneath with green hair growing in that spot. I've never seen anything like it. It affects a 3x3 inch spot on either side of her face. We know she is allergic to corn and wheat and we make sure she doesn't get it in her food. Also we treat her with frontline. Any ideas what it could be?

Find another vet! That one is just not qualified to give you a proper diagnosis. Green indicates infection to me. NOT cancer!

Find a vet who will treat your dog properly find a referal from a friend who also has a dog and ask around for a good vet!

You dog needs help not a quack who tells you to put neosporine on an infection.

Reply:Sounds like a serious infection, you should take her to the vet and get some antibiotics, could be some kind of skin infection.
Reply:You need to get her in for a vet visit ASAP. It could be from dental problems or even worse. Please do not hesitate!
Reply:Why wouldn't you take her to the vet for something like this? Infection should always be treated properly. It's only going to get worse, and you'll wish you had gotten her treated right away rather than leaving it.
Reply:Another vet for a second opinion.

Good luck.
