Bald spot on a dog?

I got her about four months ago and she had it when I got her. I didn't think much of it but hair has not grown back. It's an odd shape and it's small. I have two other dogs and they don't have that problem. The spot is normal looking skin no redness or scaliness.

Bald spot on a dog?
It's possible that it is just a scarred area where hair won't grow, especially if it's an odd shape. Dogs don't usually get raised scars like we do, but frequently hair doesn't grow at old injury sites, or takes a really long time to grow. If she starts scratching, biting at her skin, more areas of thin or missing hair, oozing at that spot, bald area size/shape changes, or scaley (peeling) patches then definately take her in as then it could be anything from allergies, ringworm, mange, to hotspots or even a nutrient deficiency. I don't know if that helps but it's hard to say without seeing a picture of the spot :)
Reply:Your dog may be losing hair because it is stressed out. Next time your at the vet ask them about it.
Reply:well, if he is scratching that spot, its probably a "hot spot".

its just an irritation of the skin.

but you may still want to check with your vet.
Reply:She may have bit it when she was younger.
Reply:It is called a hot spot, and my dog has had the same thing. It is where a section of their skin gets very irritated and they keep scratching it until it is raw. You need to go to the vet and they can give you some ointment to put on the dog to stop the irritation and the dog will stop scratching it and the hair will grow back.
Reply:it could b a burn or somthing of that sort whenmy dog was a puppie i went out and she got in to some krazy glue and it got on her paw and the hair never grew back even 2 years later and it looks like normal skin
