I'm Going To Give My Dog A Bath Today! He Has Bad DANDRUFF! Are There Natural Home Remedies To Rid Flakes?

He has the dandruff all down his back! I washed him about two months ago to try and help the dandruff, but he immediately started to flake again afterward. He's had tests done and nothing is physically wrong with him, he just has dry skin. I usually use human shampoo and he's never had this problem in the past. I use the same stuff I used in the past too. I have some cat shampoo for dry skin. Should I use it on my dog? Or is there anything I can add to the shampoo, like olive oil or baby oil? Maybe some type of home made conditioner I could leave in for a while?

Dry skin is a result of a bad diet. Just like in humans. To much fiber not enough substance. Try a food with red meat and salmon or ocean fish. This will show wonderful results in less than a month. you can also add salmon oil or flax seed oil to the food just to give her that extra help.

Some foods I would recommend are Wellness fish and potato, or depending on the size of the dog wee bit or wolfking by solid gold. The ultimate would be Urban Wolf. I hope this helps!
Reply:Use mane and tail and body its for humans and animals. Its inexpensive , smells good, it rejuvenates. You can use any human conditioner. You can also get Nature's Miracle Deoderizer and allergen reducer. It gets rid of the dandruff temperariily. Human shampoo dries the skin, we don't have the same ph levels....
Reply:no wonder ur dog has dandruff....u can't use human stuff on dogs....doesn't work the same....just spend a little and get him is own shampoo and conditioner....that's what u should be doing anyway, if u love ur baby.
Reply:Get some 'Fresh and Clean' DOG shampoo. :) I have the oatmeal, it is really good for their skin.
