Dog problems..........?

my dog is biting and scratching at a patch of skin under one of her front legs (like where an armpit would be). i looked at it and it is really red..... any suggestions on what i should/could do?? thanx.

It could be a hot spot. It could also be just a rash, perhaps your got got bitten. The BEST solution would be to take your dog to a vet and have the spot checked out, so the vet can take the proper steps to help your dog heal. Good Luck.

Reply:If the skin doesn't seem broken maybe try a shampoo for sensitive skin. I think they often have stuff in it that can soothe their skin.
Reply:You need to have this checked out at the vet. Just call them and they should prescribe you some salve. If he scratches and gets it infected he could get an staph infection and it could go inward.
Reply:Get her to the vet and the vet will probably prescibe some sort of skin ointment and the dreaded cone collar so that she can't chew on it (which is why it looks so bad) and it will have time to heal.
