My dog has some dark red marks on her belly.I think that aren't spots on her belly skin, but it looks more like

dark-red wounds from scratching too much. The problem is I know they're not from scratching. It doesn't bother her at all,but I was wondering should I do something about it and what?Should I do a pilling on her skin and try to remove them?

p.s. they don't really look like her skin-they more look like they are part of it,but like a higher layer.

They could possibly be birthmarks, or it could be a skin condition if they're raised and/or welted.

Your best bet is to take her to the vet and have them give her a look. They would also be able to provide you with a topical cream or something that would be able to heal the areas if they are indeed something that shouldn't be there.

Keep an eye on your dog to make sure they're not bothering her and give your vet a call to see what they think the possibilities are and everything should be okay. Good luck.
Reply:its probabaly from her scratching
Reply:give her a medicated bath and see if that helps .. if the red marks are dark circles (on the outside ) and pink on the inside you might want to have her checked for ringworm..

Try the bath first and if that does not help I would contact your vet just to make sure its not a serious skin condition.

Because some conditions are contagious to other dogs
Reply:they could be her nipples....or they could be blisters from her urine getting on her skin which causes an infection. my husky had that and the vet gave me medicine. my vet said wash that area with soap and water often.
