My dog has bald spots?

My poor little min pin is getting bald spots the size of a dime all over the top of her back/neck area... can't figure out what it is, but I have an idea... I also have a boxer (both dogs are pups..10mths old) and they do rough house alot...can that be it? or is it possibly a skin problem? She is very healthy otherwise

My dog has bald spots?
My dog has them also, they are called hot spots, easily treatable, go to your local pet store or co-op and get somthing called cool spot, it will help. If it does not work, ask a vet.
Reply:hot spots can also be treated with motor oil and sulfer alot cheaper than pet shop or vet. Report It

Reply:Could be ringworm. Have a vet check it out, probably something that a little ointment will take care of.
Reply:could be poor nutrition or stress maybe
Reply:I don't know what causes it, but I can recommend a very good shop for wigs, let me know if you are interested. :)
Reply:It could be so many things but the most common is usually an allergy...especially at this time of year. This calls for a visit to the vet to find out what is really going on.
Reply:Could be allergies given the time of year...try benadryl
Reply:It sounds like ringworm. You should see a vet asap, if is ringworm the treatment is fairly involved (you've got to clean all bedding, dust, air vents) - will spread to humans and cats too.
Reply:I have a puppy with the same problem also, hers ir a skin condition. She was rescued and it was caused by lice but there are several other causes. The mange is a common reason also and is not from being dirty like most people think.
Reply:i also have a boxer she got bald spots and the vet said it was because she was spayed he said mainly that spayed female dogs get them if that is the case then they grow back realy quickly
Reply:fleas or some type of skin fungus.
Reply:could be allegeys to somethign or there play butit might be fleas to my cat get that way with fleas
Reply:That happened to a dog we had - she had developed allergies (possibly even to grass or fleas) - that could be it.
Reply:well my little yorkie had what started like a scab and then became a bold-spot ,took her for a skin-scrape.it was ringworm ,which is very contagious,to humans and other dogs.if not ringworm could be bacteria,,or fungus.anyways would have a vet to do a skin-scrape to rule out anything that could be contagious..ciao Nicki
