My dog is constantly rubbing his face into the ground in certain parts of my garden. Is his face itchy or what

I have a Mini Schnauzer who is un-neutered and almost 2 years old. This just started a few days ago. Now whenever I take him outside, he picks this part of my garden and constantly rubs his face into the grass and dirt. He bathes once a week and he doesn't have any skin problems. Any reasons why he's doing this?

bird poo. i'm serious, my two dogs love it (ew) i know gross huh? that is what it probably is, dogs like it, for reasons i don't know why. just keep washing him =) haha
Reply:Loves the smell of the ground. My mom's dog rubs on the carpet when we spray fabreeze on it.
Reply:i will tell you from my own experiences. it seems like an old instinct is telling the dog to mask its scent from predators or other competitor "wolf packs " . my hunting dogs will rub their bodies in cow pies, mud, grass, road kill, anything that has an odor that might mask their own...

its no problem, nothing to worrry about
Reply:eeww, sounds like theres a dead something in your garden, or maybe somthing did a #2 in it.
