Last year i bred a litter of Chi-Chi puppies. I have encounterd a MAJOR problem with my customer. Help please!

Ok so last year in May, I bred a litter of 4 Chi-Chi (chihuahua/chinese crested) puppies. I sold them all successfully at 7 weeks of age for $700 each. I didn't offer a health guarantee for long, I gave all customers a 5 month health guarantee on the pups.


I sold a female pup to a lady named Janet and she was happy with her pup. Janet told me that her pup (Pixy) has a laxating patella, lots of skin problems, lots of eye problems and a major aggression problem.


Janet is blaming me for selling her a sick puppy and she wants me to pay the $3000+ in vet bills but I can't afford to do that because I don't have any moneu left from the sales of the last litter with my other dogs (Chi-Poo litter).


What should I do?





Also, my male Chihuahua (sire of Janets pup) has a luxating patella (which he hasn't had before), is it still OK to breed him? I last used him as a stud to my sisters litter of Chi-Poo pups. He is a great stud and has sired many cute puppies.

All breeders I know will take any dog back for any reason. Sounds as if the problem is in the genetics of the dog. You are responsible since you were the one that is responsible for the litter.





For the life of me I can't understand why someone would pay 700 for a mutt.





Skin, eye and agressive problems are from improper breeding. I suggest you pay up.





I would suggest you stop breeding any dog with a genetic flaw. You are just breeding dogs to be euthenized later in life.





I work for a Pug rescue league and we get tons of dogs that were breed by breeders who don't know what they are doing and it's the dogs that suffer.





I have a pug Molley who although I love her pieces should have never been breed but she was. #!1. Is she has a collasped trachea. #2. She is not a good specimen of a pug. #3. She has all kinds of health problems.





However her former owners breed her two times.





There is a lot more to breeding then putting a male and female dog together, and to charge $700.00 for a mixed breed is as bad as robbing someone.
Reply:A reputable breeder would not breed mixed dogs and you would also know that there is no such thing as a teacup anything. You are running a small puppy mill.
Reply:Wow, First Off don't breed mutts. I'm paying $800 for a PURE BRED English Mastiff with a 5 year guarentee. My advice: Don't breed if you can't afford the extra bills. Don't own a dog if you only own it for breeding.Good Luck!
