Thought I would share this?

When I got my dog, she had dry skin from being bathed too much. She would itch and scratch constantly. I brought her to the vet and his diagnosis was dry skin. DUH. No suggestions from him other than to say not to bathe her so much. DUH again.

Needless to say, I switched vets. I had only brought her there because that is the vet she had been seeing since she was a little tiny thing.

The new vet suggested this stuff called "Miracle Coat." It's a leave in conditioner that has tea tree oil and Vitamin E in it. Wow. It worked really well. Only occasional scratching from the very first time I used it. Her skin is doing so much better now. I'm sure that also has to do with the fact that she isn't getting 3 baths a week anymore, but I wanted to share anyway.

It was about 14 dollars for a 12oz. bottle at PetSmart, but worth every penny.

I also need to say that if you think your dog has a skin problem, it needs to been seen by a vet. A lot of skin problems are NOT just dry skin.

Thought I would share this?
There are also fish oil pills for dogs that can be added to their food or broken open and just squeezed over the food. This will help maintain the skin between bathing and makes the coat look healthy and relieves dry skin. They can be purchased at any pet supply or vet office.

Allot of dogs have dry flaky skin during winter due to home heating systems that dries out their skin.
