First aid lotion for a dog is it ok?

i have a bichon frise and she has skin problems so she licks her paw every time and know its bleeding so is it good to put first aid lotion on a dog which is meant for humans

First aid lotion for a dog is it ok?
If your dog has ongoing skin problems a vet would be the best thing rather than asking on here
Reply:Why don't you see the vet to get a resolution to the problem.
Reply:If she is having skin issues, you should have a vet examine her to see what may be the cause. The first aid lotion may cause irritations or allergic reactions.
Reply:you should check your vet for a kind of special ointment or something similar to that. if they don't know i wouldn't try, just in case
Reply:You really shouldn't apply or give any medications intended for people to your dog. Your vet is the only one qualified to determine the proper treatment. You could be making things worse by trying to treat it without your vets advice.
Reply:They sell lots of stuff at the pet store to heal this and it won`t hurt your dog, why put that on her and take the chance of making her sick?????
Reply:You know I believe this ointment may work out for your dog and I am not one to run to the vet for every little thing.

I am wondering however how are you going to keep the dog from licking it off and will it be good for digestion?

I may put the ointment on but cover with socks supported by rope or something that she can't get off.

best wishes... why make the vet rich when the problem is not infection?
Reply:First off see the vet to find out why, what, cause and correct treatment. In the meantime, don't apply anything, it might be the wrong thing.

In the meantime, get some self stick tape from the first aid section at the drugstore and tape tube socks over her paws so she can't lick them. The vet can treat the dog when you take her
