My dog is peeing blood?

Hello everyone. Last night my cousin was walking my male bichon frise, he's six years old, and said that he had some blood in his pee. not a lot he said but still there was some. he's had some skin problems in the past, and is really itchy a lot. We're going to take in a urin sample to the vet, but i'm still a bit worried. any suggestions?

My dog is peeing blood?
You are awesome for taking your dog and a urine sample to the

vet. Sounds like you have it together and are a very responsible

dog parent.

He could have a urinary tract infection or a bladder infection.

I would just get your dog to the vet, so they can run a urinalysis and a complete exam, so if he does have a UTI he could be treated with antibiotics also.

Also, did he eat anything out of the ordinary? There are some things dogs and humans eat that can turn our urine to appear as if we have blood.
Reply:just go to the vet and hope for the best

:]
Reply:Could be a UTI... the vet will tell you for sure though.
Reply:this maybe dangerous. if this happens to a human it is also dangerous. it might be internal bleeding. he may have hurt him self really bad.
Reply:the firsth thing you should do is look up animal hospital n the dictionary and then you should go there and ask the specialist there to handle it. do this fast before it is too late.
Reply:we had the same problem with a male cat one time and he had a urinary track infection he had to have surgery but he was fine.
Reply:If Its A Gurl Then Its Normal...Dogs, Just Like Us Have Periods...But Its Called Something Differant...

If thats wut it is it should go away quickly...

but i would still go to the vet just in case thats not wut it is...
Reply:Its probably a urinary track infection or bladder infection, please take your little guy to the vet asap, those really really hurt
Reply:As you bring the urine sample to the vet, take your dog along for the ride. I'm sure your vet will want to examine him as well as his specimen.
Reply:go to the vet and get the vet to check it out go soon it might be serious
Reply:This is a sign of a infection that might of occur recently or weeks ago...the safest way 4 u 2 do is 2 take him 2 a animal hospital and see what they say. But don't worry is could just been a minor cut or inflammation inside of him, and that could be cure easily. hope it helps.
Reply:My dog was doing this a couple years ago. It ended up he was poisoned, but your dog doesn't have any of the other symptoms. Any way, if he is poisoned, don't worry, we saved my dog. Now he's 8 years old! It happened when he was about 5.
Reply:It's most likely a urinary tract infection or kidney infection.

Get him to the vet today to be evaluated.

If you can't get a urine sample then they can get urine from him at the vet, but it will cost you a bit more.
Reply:Stick to the vet and just watch your dog pee over the next 3 weeks or so to see if the blood goes away or is he still peeing blood.
Reply:Either kidney problems, or a UTI. Either way it's just as well you are going to the vet as your dog will become very sick if you don't.
Reply:the vet will know best
Reply:The best thing is to take him to the vet.
Reply:Well if he is looking at the pee at night would'nt you think that he had a bad look at the pee did you even take a good look at his Penis if you did and you are sure that he is pising blood theni think that you did the right thing by taking him to the vet first thing after you found out
Reply:Urinary and/or kidney infecition... most likey.

Antibiotics are a must
Reply:Going to the vet is all you can do in a situatuion like this.
