Any products to sooth the skin out there for a dog that was trimmed too closely at the groomers?

I took my dog to the groomers for the first time. He's about 6 months old. Apparently they shaved him too closely. He is constantly scratching and nipping at his coat and his belly is red. He did not have any of these problems prior to being groomed so I am pretty sure that this is the result of getting his coat trimmed. Please provide any suggestions for how I might be able to help him be more comfortable. Thanks!

It could be shaver burn like you said OR maybe it could be the smell-pretty stuff they put on him afterward like a spray or powder. Call them and ask and maybe he just needs a bath to get rid of the junk they put on him. At least they should have an idea of how to help since their grooming (probably) caused the problem.
Reply:He might be reacting to the shampoo or conditioner they used on him. I'd find out what it was and maybe bathe him again myself with something else.
Reply:i would suggest pure aloe vera you can get at the health food store. it's soothing and he can lick it off and it won't hurt him
Reply:Avon Skin So Soft Bath oil! Helps the skin and also softens the hair!!

It also keeps flies off them!!
