my friend has a shetland sheep dog with a red spot on its belly about an inch wide. there is no hair loss, itichiness or skin problem. just normal skin that is red. has anyone had a simliar situation with their pet?

My dog will get those if he has been bitten by a bug (mostly a flea). It almost looks like a hive, but it doesn't seem to bother him.

Reply:I don't know what it is as a red spot generally indicates a reaction of some sort and is usually associated with itching. Please keep an eye on it and note any changes to your vet office.
