Sunscreen with aloe. It will heal and prevent. If it get worse then maybe you should get something prescribed. She may have developed a skin condition, you may want her to see a vet to be sure.
Reply:You can put sunblock on her if she doesn't lick it off!But what are the odds of that, right?LOL!

Very strange for her to want to sleep in such a hot condition as to get a burn!I would check her for another irritation.Mabey heat is the only relief she gets from the itch.
Reply:well since dogs are verey much like us there skin is just as fragil so u may just want to a tad bit on her because to much will make it get all over her fur and when its dries it will make her too itchy
Reply:take her to the vet and check it out, sunburn is not too common in dogs. there are spray on sunscreens, but they are toxic if she licks them off. You know your dog, if she is a dog that grooms herself alot, then I would not use any sunscreen,. Otherwise, if it is sunburn and not something else, then maybe you can spot treat her. The vet may be able to give you a better product that won't hurt your dog.
Reply:I would think that is a rash rather than a sunburn. My dogs best friend is a terrier mix and she does not have the same thick coat as my black lab. She tends to get reds patches (easily seen through her thin white coat) on the underside of her hind legs. The vet said that it was a bacterial rash and gave some spray to help the rash. You might also try mixing yogurt in with your dogs food for a week and see if that helps.
